In 2002, I wanted to explore thoughts on control and collaboration so I started working with models and doing figure works. The models were given two specific contexts and I photographed how they complied, half of the time holding an item they selected from what was in the studio.  Back in the darkroom, I printed from the negatives, stretching out the development by dragging the still-light sensitive paper into ambient light and leaving it to dry and stain for hours or days before fixing and rinsing the image.  Each print is thus an individual experience, both for the spontaneity of the model and the elements of chance in the abusive printing process.
